The NFU Sugar Board’s election has resulted in a re-election for
Cambridgeshire Fens farmer, William Martin. He runs a 450 ha family farm at
Littleport in the Cambridgeshire Fens, just north of Ely.
John Goodchild, a new member of the Board,
also farms in the East of England at the Bartlow Estate in South
Cambridgeshire.
Nick Wells, the other member of the Board is from Lincolnshire.
Farmers could vote on line this year for the first time, at
www.nfusugar.com. This meant that the voting turnout increased compared
with 2009; over 1,200 votes were received.
The newly elected board members will take their place on the Sugar board
at the meeting in March.
